White Stone Routes [Self Assemble Edition]

This series photographs are made of/from my exhibition title “White Stone Routes”. The title derived from white bones of the dead that were left along the paths during the World War 2. I have survey on routes in northern Thailand where the Japanese Army used to travel to and retreated back from Burma and India. The same routes have been used by refugees to escape from Burma since the domestic conflict. The information of both events are limited and rarely seen/heard in public. I find that the current influx of immigrants into northern Thailand has traces back and repeats of the complicated past since World War II. This characteristic of both situations is presenting in this series.
Method of display:
1. Look through all the 27 photographs.
2. To test how to display them first, print all photograph files by a simple office printer, each in size A4 paper. Then cut away the blank white part which is not a part of the photographs. Now you have all photographs in the shape of square.
3. To assemble the photographs is based on your understanding, experiences or wish to interpret “White Stone Routes” project. You can design, how to connect them together into a larger photograph.
It’s simple, you can just put each of them next to each other. You can also decide how many photographs that suit to your interpretation. You can choose minimum one photograph and maximum 27 photographs on a wall, a panel or on a table.
4. Once you’re set, how do you like to put together, you can then print the selected photographs to print properly from a professional printer and paper that available in your area. Then display the assembled photographs on a space you prefer.
5. Please kindly state as a part of a caption of the work “This photograph assembles by [print here name of your organization]”. In the description of the work, you can also write a short paragraph of your own description (how you interpret the project) before or after the “White Stone Routes [Self Assemble Edition]” description.

ไวท์ สโตน รูทส์ [เซลฟ์ แอสเซมเบิล อีดิชั่น]

ชุดภาพถ่ายนี้ถูกสร้างขึ้นโดยและจากนิทรรศการของฉัน “ไวท์ สโตน รูทส์” ซึ่งชื่อนี้ได้มาจากซากกระดูกสีขาวของผู้เสียชีวิตที่ถูกทอดทิ้งไว้ตามเส้นทางในช่วงการเกิดสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ฉันได้สำรวจเส้นทางในภาคเหนือของประเทศไทยที่เหล่ากองทัพญี่ปุ่นเคยเดินทางไปเยือนและล่าถอยกลับมาจากพม่าและอินเดีย อีกทั้งกลุ่มผู้ลี้ภัยเองก็ใช้เส้นทางเดียวกันนี้เพื่อหลบหนีออกจากพม่านับตั้งแต่มีการเกิดความขัดแย้งกันเองภายในประเทศ ซึ่งข้อมูลของทั้งสองเหตุการณ์นั้นต่างมีอย่างจำกีดอีกทั้งไม่บ่อยนักที่จะได้เห็นหรือได้ยินในพื้นที่สาธารณะ ฉันพบว่า ณ ปัจจุัน การไหลบ่าของผู้อพยพเข้าสู่ภาคเหนือของประเทศไทยนั้นได้ย้อนกลับไปซ้ำรอยอดีตอันยุ่งเหยิงนับตั้งแต่ช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่สอง ซึ่งคุณลักษณะของทั้งสองสถานการณ์นี้กำลังถูกนำเสนอผ่านชุดภาพถ่ายเหล่านี้
วิธีการแสดง
1. ตรวจดูภาพถ่ายทั้ง 27 ภ่าย
2. เพื่อทดสอบการแสดงของเหล่าชิ้นงาน อันดับแรกให้พิมพ์ไฟล์ภาพถ่ายออกมาด้วยเครื่องพิมพ์ในออฟฟิศ ในแต่ละแผ่นให้พิมพ์ด้วยกระดาษขนาดเอสี่ จากนั้นตัดส่วนกระดาษเปล่าสีขาวที่ไม่ใช่ส่วนของภาพถ่ายออก ตอนนี้ คุณได้ภาพถ่ายที่อยู่ในสัดส่วนที่เป็นสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัสแล้ว
3. การประกอบภาพขึ้นอยู่กับความเข้าใจ ประสบการณ์ หรือความประสงค์ของคุณที่จะตีความโครงการ “ไวท์ สโตน รูทส์” คุณสามารถออกแบบวิธีเชื่อมต่อภาพเหล่านั้นเข้าด้วยกันให้เป็นภาพถ่ายขนาดใหญ่ได้
มันง่ายมากเพียงแค่คุณนำภาพแต่ละอันมาวางเรียงติดกัน อีกทั้งคุณยังสามารถตัดสินใจเกี่ยวกับจำนวนภาพถ่ายที่เหมาะสมกับการตีความของคุณได้ คุณอาจเลือกภาพถ่ายอย่างน้อยหนึ่งภาพและมากที่สุดถึงจำนวน 27 ภาพในการติดที่ผนัง ที่ลูกฟักบานประตู หรือวางบนโต๊ะ
4. เมื่อพร้อมแล้ว วิธีที่คุณสามารถรวมภาพถ่ายเข้าด้วยกันได้คือการพิมพ์ภาพถ่ายที่เหมาะสมที่เลือกไว้แล้วออกมาด้วยเครื่องพิมพ์ขนาดใหญ่และกระดาษที่มีอยู่ในบริเวณนั้น จากนั้นให้แสดงภาพถ่ายที่รวมกันแล้วในพื้นที่ที่คุณต้องการ
5. โปรดระบุข้อความว่า “ภาพถ่ายนี้ประกอบขึ้นโดย [พิมพ์ชื่อองค์กรของคุณที่นี่]” ให้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของคำบรรยายของผลงาน อีกทั้งในคำอธิบายของผลงานคุณยังสามารถเขียนย่อหน้าสั้น ๆ ของคำอธิบายของคุณ (วิธีที่คุณตีความผลงาน) ไว้ก่อนหรือหลังคำอธิบายของ “ไวท์ สโตน รูทส์ [ฉบับประกอบเอง]” ได้
